Puff, The Magic Dragon

    Once upon a time, there was a magic dragon, Puff. He lived in the sea. He was mighty Dragon.

    One day, he met Little Jackie Paper in a Honah Lee land. He loved that rascal Puff. Then, They was played together. Little Jackie Paper brought strings, sealing wax and other fancy stuff to Puff.

    New one day, Little Jackie Paper asked the Puff to go to around the world. Then, they would travel together. They started their adventure on the boat with billowed sail. Jackie kept a look out perched on Puff is gigantic tail. On the sea, They met a big sharks. And the Puff was called sharks. They met noble kings and princess, kings and princess would bow whenever they came. Also the pirate ship would lower their flag when Puff roared out his name.

    One year after their adventure, The Little Boy was illness, and then he died. The Puff was so sad, he ceased his fearless roar. So, Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into the cave. In the cave he was met Little Jackie Paper in his dream. Little Jackie Paper said, “Come on, lets play with me !”. The Puff said, “Yeahh, I will play with you.”. When he woke up, he then prayed to god, “I want to play with Little Jackie Paper forever.”. After he finished praying, he was sleept again. And then he met Little Jackie Paper in his dream.

    Finally, they lived happily everafter in the dream land.

Made In Japan Sangat Cepat

Di luar Hotel Hilton, Gus Dur bersama
sahabatnya yang seorang turis Jepang mau
pergi ke Bandara. Mereka naik taksi di jalan,
tiba-tiba saja ada mobil kencang sekali
menyalip taksinya. Dengan bangga Si
Jepang berteriak, "Aaaah Toyota, made in
Japan. Sangat cepat...!"

Tidak lama kemudian, mobil lain menyalip
taksi itu. Si Jepang teriak lagi, "Aaaah
Nissan, made ini Japan. Sangat cepat."
Beberapa lama kemudian, taksi yang ia naiki
lagi-lagi disalip mobil, dan Si Jepang teriak
lagi "Aaaah Mitsubishi. Made in Japan sangat
cepat...!" Gus Dur dan sopir taksi itu merasa
kesal melihat Si Jepang ini bener-bener
nasionalis.
Kemudian, sesampainya di bandara, sopir
taksi bilang ke Si Jepang. "100 dolar,
please..."

"100 dolars...?! Ini kan tidak jauh dari hotel."
"Aaaah... Argometer made in Japan kan
sangat cepat sekali," kata Gus Dur menyahut
Si Jepang itu.

Definition ( sosial function )

   to tell stories which can amuse and entertaining the reader.

Generic structure

   -Orientation  : The introduction what is inside in the text, what text is talk in general, who involves in the      text, where and when it happen.

   -Complication : It explores the conflict among the participants. The onflict an be shown as natural, social, or psychological conflict.

   -Resolution : The phase where the participants solve the problem aroured by the conflict.

Example of text narrative

The Story of Sangkuriang and Tangkuban Perahu Mountain

     Once, there was a kingdom in Priangan Land. Lived a happy family. They were a father in form of dog,his name is Tumang, a mother which was called is Dayang Sumbi, and a child which was called Sangkuriang.
One day, Dayang Sumbi asked her son to go hunting with his lovely dog, Tumang. After hunting all day, Sangkuriang began desperate and worried because he hunted no deer. Then he thought to shot his own dog. Then he took the dog liver and carried home.
      Soon Dayang Sumbi found out that it was not deer lever but Tumang's, his own dog. So, She was very angry and hit Sangkuriang's head. In that incident, Sangkuriang got wounded and scar then cast away from their home.
Years go bye, Sangkuriang had travel many places and finally arrived at a village. He met a beautiful woman and felt in love with her. When they were discussing their wedding plans, The woman looked at the wound in Sangkuriang's head. It matched to her son's wound who had left severall years earlier. Soon she realized that she felt in love with her own son.
      She couldn't marry him but how to say it. Then, she found the way. She needed a lake and a boat for celebrating their wedding day. Sangkuriang had to make them in one night. He built a lake. With a dawn just moment away and the boat was almost complete. Dayang Sumbi had to stop it. Then, she lit up the eastern horizon with flashes of light. It made the cock crowed for a new day.
Sangkuriang failed to marry her. She was very angry and kicked the boat. It felt over and became the mountain of Tangkuban Perahu Bandung.
